Credit Cards to Use in Europe

Well, I am going on a trip to Rome, Italy for spring break.  It will be my last spring break as a student so I am really looking forward to the trip.  I’ve been doing some research as to what things to consider when traveling to Europe and I came across one thing that I found very important.  I plan on using my credit card for the majority of my purchases – especially the hotel I am staying at (Hotel Ariston in Rome) which is my largest expense.  I found out that many credit card issuers tack on a 1-3% extra charge when you use your card in Europe.  Luckily I stumbled across this website: http://flyertalk.com/wiki/index.php/Credit/Debit/ATM_Cards_and_Foreign_Exchange

They have listed the various fees associated with the different card issuers.  Now I know to make sure to charge all my expenses on my Capital One card because they are one of the very few to have no extra charges.  Anyway – I thought I would share this information and I hope to update my site with some pictures next week while I am in Rome.
