Syntax Olevia 327V 6 Month Review

February 1st, 2007 by Administrator Leave a reply »

I have now had my Olevia 327V LCD TV for 6 months now and I am still 100% satisfied with this TV. I am hoping to buy another LCD TV for my living room since I love this one so much (I use the 327V in my bedroom). The picture quality is outstanding especially when watching HD channels like DiscoveryHD (one of my favorites). I have recommended this TV to many of my friends because it is much more affordable than many of the LCD TVs that are on the market and it has picture quality that is just as good or better than the more expensive brands. Anyway – I just thought that I would post an update on the TV since I have been receiving many hits from Google from people searching for 327V reviews. Feel free to post any questions you may have related to the 327V and I’ll be happy to answer them for you.

Hi! I just got this T.V. and it seems good to go. I just updated the firmware. Is there anyplace you have seen that tells you what has been updated? Thanks!

I too agree that this TV is an excellent value. The picture quality is as good as LCD’s 3 times the price. It’s a bit small for a living room set but it’s still nice and crisp about 11ft away. I’ve used it hooked up to my HDMI DVD-Player, my HDMI HD-Cable Box, and my Xbox with the component connection. All three look really nice, especially the cable.

I picked up a HDMI splitter for only 41 bucks shipped from buy.com last week so I can hook up up to 3 HDMI inputs.

The menu might be a little confusing to those not tech savvy, but I don’t really think this TV is for the non-tech savvy. It’s for the educated consumer, which is it’s greatest compliment.

I’ve had the TV about a month now and couldn’t be happier. It’s now about $50 bucks more expensive than when I bought it: seems there is a nice market for this set.

My friend gave me this tv to try and repair, it gives no video at all. I plugged it in, standby blue led turns on, when i hit the power button the olevia splash comes up, then goes to a black screen, the standby led is off but no kind of input is accepted besides powering down again.

I’m looking for the firmware for this tv or anything that might be related to repairing it without having to really replace any parts. Any help?
